Convenience Sites — Restricted Usage

Refuse sites are funded by the taxpayers of Frederick County. At certain shared sites and the landfill, residents of Clarke County also share in expenses and are allowed to use county facilities. Those using vehicles bearing out-of-state tags or out-of-area decals will not be permitted to use county facilities without a permission letter from the Public Works Department. The department issues permission letters on a case-by-case basis in order to limit misuse by those residing outside of Frederick County. As a result, the interests of Frederick County residents are protected and disposal costs are controlled.
