Important information for the Working Groups
Project kick-off – The Working Groups
Following the kick off meeting it is anticipated that the Working Groups will work independently over the next several weeks at a schedule that suits the group.
February 28, 2014 – Completion of initial effort
Statement on communication – Please keep the staff resource informed on the time, date, and location of meetings that are held by the Working Groups.
The Planning Department Conference Room, or an alternative space, will be available on a daily basis from the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other locations more suitable to the groups may be used. In addition, communication via email and other digital methods is encouraged. Please remember all digital communication should be shared with all members of your Working Group and your staff resource.
Future Participation – The Working Group members will be encouraged to attend a future meeting where the Southern Frederick Area Plan will be presented to the public for information and additional input. This meeting is anticipated to occur in the Winter/Spring 2014.
The Plan will consist of four parts:
1. Urban Areas and Residential Development
2. Business Development
3. Transportation
4. Natural Resources, Historic Resources, and Public Facilities
Each Working Group will be responsible for their part of the Plan.
The following template should be used as a guide for each part of the Plan. This builds upon the format of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan.

The Route 277 Triangle and Urban Center Plan and The Tasker Woods Land Use Plan should be used as the foundation planning documents for this effort. Copies of these Plans are available for modification as needed.
