Robert Liero was appointed to the Board of Supervisors on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, to fill the unexpired term of the Shawnee District Supervisor. He will serve in this capacity until a special election is held November 5, 2024.

Mr. Liero served in the Virginia Army National Guard for 21 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. His career in education spanned 37 years, with 18 years as a teacher and 26 years as an administrator. He was Millbrook High School assistant principal from 2003 through 2016, then assistant principal at the Dowell J. Howard Center from 2016 until his retirement in June of 2023. Both are part of Frederick County Public Schools.

Mr. Liero serves on the Transportation Committee, alternate; Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission; Parks & Recreation Commission liaison; Planning Commission liaison; Handley Regional Library Board liaison; and the Tourism Board liaison.
